Though the rules of online poker are the same as those of the conventional poker game, the methods of playing poker are not as online poker is much faster than land-based poker.
In land-based casinos, you base your decisions on the opponents’ body language and expressions, while in online poker you have to base your decisions on the time the person takes to respond and the amount he bets. In online poker you don’t have a clue to the player’s body language and reaction. Hence, the players make a lot of identifier bets which give the other players an idea about the pattern with which the players go about playing the game as well as the hand of the player.
The chances of winning is more in internet poker as the number of identifier bets are more, thus giving the players an idea about the playing patterns of the opponents. However, the conventional game of poker is also advantageous. The traditional game is quite lively, but a lot of pre-planning needs to be done whereas online poker can be played anytime, anywhere with just a PC, internet connection and a membership of the site.
The number of bets in online poker is much ore than those in brick and mortar games. Though the basics of both the games are same, the tricks, techniques and strategies required for both are different.
The similarity between the two is that you should have a good amount of money when you start playing and you should not bite more than you can chew implying that you should only bet what you can afford to pay. Though different people will prefer different methods, internet poker is bound to give players better experience.
